A BILL

To repeal the law formulated by Mike Godwin in 1990 which states: "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."

Be it enacted by the People of teh internets assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the 'Godwin's Law Repeal Act of 2008'.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS AND PURPOSE.

(a) Findings- People of teh internets makes the following findings:

    (1) President George W. Bush of the United States has abused unchecked powers of the executive branch leading to oppressive transgressions on individual freedoms and ill-considered government policies, all in the name of "National Security," following 9/11 attacks. Hitler did the same in the aftermath of the Reichstag fire.

    (2) The Congress of the United States enacted the Patriot Act in 2001, which is based on the Enabling Act enacted by the German Reichstag in 1933.

    (3) President Bush used the tactic devised by Nazi leader Herman Goering to lead people in to war, the tactic being "tell them they are being attacked, and [then] denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger".

    (4) President Bush started referring to his country as "The Homeland", just as Hitler used to do. The Department of Homeland Security is modeled along the lines of Central Security Office for the Homeland set up by Hitler.

    (5) President Bush portrays himself as a deeply religious leader, just as Hitler did.

    (6) President Bush is pouring government money into the corporate sector coffers the same way Hitler did to take power away from the people and hand it to the corporations.

    (7) Hitler started World War II to get hunt for "suspicious Middle Eastern people," in other countries. President Bush started the war to hunt for "Middle Eastern terrorists." Hitler got the backing of the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain while President Bush had the support of British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

    (8) President Bush got the complicit media to label dissidents as "unpatriotic" , a tactic perfected by Hitler.

    (9) President Bush now has the power to label anyone he dislikes as a "enemy combatant". Hitler had the power to label anyone he disliked as an "enemy".

    (10) US courts have ruled that Guantanamo detainees are "non-persons" under US law. Nazis declared anyone who was not "Aryan" as Untermensch (sub human).

(b) Purpose- The American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 is intended to repeal Godwin's Law of 1990, as it is no longer possible to discuss the actions of United States Government in general and the actions of President Bush in particular without a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler.
